On 22 July, Conservancy Safaris CEO, Russell Vinjevold, loaded up a dumpy level and a team of volunteers and headed off to Onjuva.

The business at hand was to lay out the airstrip that is to service Etambura Camp, built exclusively for use by CS guests. After approval by the Orupembe Conservancy committee, Russell and team promptly set to work and within a couple of hours the co-ordinates were laid out.  Tyres were dragged across the plain to prepare the area.  There to witness the proceedings were Headman Uapenga, wife Koiperiko and community member, Tjambiru Kaveitjo.

The airstrip will be completed in due course by a CS team and be ready for inspection by aviation authorities.
